I am currently pursuing a PhD under the advisement of Ren Ng in the computer science and electrical engineering department at UC Berkeley. I am fortunate to be funded by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. Previously I completed my undergrad and Masters of Engineering at MIT in the Camera Culture group. My topics of interest include computational imaging and computer vision. The photos current cameras take contain vast amounts of data that current learning algorithms fail to extract. How can we use this data to extract information about an object outside of the camera's field of view? Can we look at a pedestrians facial expression to predict if they will step out into the street? These are the problems I am interested in, I believe they will be important for many applications including a particular favorite, autonomous vehicles. Outside of academics, my hobbies include photography, painting, 3d modeling, backpacking, skiing, hiking, and mountain biking.
